*Rally News. The Sea-to-Sea rally may get some publicity, hopefully good. The scoring system is unique. If I got it right, there were TSD sections, but they were timed to the tenth of a minute, rather than seconds. The other part of the scoring system gives the rallyists the longitude and latitude of landmarks, and they are supposed to guide themselves to the place, then take a picture to prove they were there. A GPS system is required. To add some spice, they are given multiple locations, so they have to pick out the ones that are "doable". Remember, they only have so much time... Ron Clyborne and Michelle (who have announced wedding plans) are running, as is Satch, Dennis Gunn, Grimshaw and few other names we know from Arctic rally fame.

Lost Patrol is "postponed" to 1998. Satch didn't give specific reason, but probably he wants more time to generate more support for the event.

*Weather Report/Snowstorm news Kirk and Terry bought matching Ski-doo's and took off for the serious snow north of Spokane. Got trapped on the wrong side of Snoqualmie Pass when it closed down.. Jarvis and Alison lost power for four days. Their well didn't work, but they found some wood (hah!) and kept warm with their stove.. Roy Ward tried to reset the tarp on the roof of the rental house. The roofer put it on until the weather made it possible to reroof the place. He slipped off the roof. The dent in the ground will recover, and he has a large bruise. Nolte has been on 10+ hour days since Christmas, with no relief in sight. The winter has not been kind to phone service. Of more worrisome note, The forests took a beating. Will the roads be clear in time for the Doo Wops?

*Cristy: Unfounded Raindrop rumors: It will not be in rally valley Oregonians will not have to drive as far as last year to attend. It will again not end at a pizza parlor

*Club News- Please pay your dues at the January meeting.

*Trivia: Jim and Cristy are repopulating their yard with project cars. The latest is Roy's Turisimo. Uh, it may be driven from Redmond to West Seattle
